Interview with Eric Glymph

November 22, 2017

As part of the ongoing series, “The Power of Routines”, Pamela Biasca Losada Health Coach recently interviewed Eric Glymph, owner of EDGe Business Planning, to learn about routine habits he promotes for himself and his business.

Pamela: Why is routine important to you?

Eric: “It’s important to have a routine because it allows you to have more structure in your daily life. My goal through a daily morning routine is to make sure that my mind, body, and spirit are in the right place to start my day. It allows me to observe my key objectives for the day, prioritize them, and, then, tackle my day!”

Pamela: How do you accomplish your goals?

Eric: “I accomplish my goals by having structure throughout my day. While I tend to stay true to a morning routine, I do like to add some variety to it from time to time so that it does not become stale. Some mornings I might exercise in a different place with other people or listen to a different genre of music.

In order to have a good morning routine, it is essential to make sure that you have an effective nightly routine in place. Nightly routines should include going to bed early so that you get 7 ½ to 8 hours of sleep. In the morning, I wake up early enough so that I can allocate time for a few quiet minutes to myself and to catch up on current events and news headlines.

I make sure to incorporate exercise into my daily routine. Since I am a triathlete, my coach creates training plans for me everyday. This motivates me to wake up & get out of bed and provides me with a set workout routine and accountability to complete my plans. Normally, I will swim, bike, or run for 60-75 minutes every day of the week. Sometimes, I will workout in a group setting, outside – more motivation!

Although I cannot sing or play an instrument, I really enjoy and appreciate good music. It’s important for me to find music that I relate to and listen to it in my daily life. I always try to listen to music as I am getting ready. Most of the time, I’ll pick a playlist based on my current mood.”
