Interview with Brad Strouse

As part of the ongoing series, “The Power of Routines”, Pamela Biasca Losada Health Coach recently interviewed Brad Strouse, entertainment consultant at East Coast Entertainment, to learn about routine habits he promotes for himself and his business.

Pamela: Why is a routine important to you?

Routine is vital to me as a young professional, father to a toddler, and endurance athlete. I do my best to squeeze efficiency out of every moment of the day and I owe most of that to a daily routine.

Pamela: How do you accomplish your goals?

I typically wake up around 5 AM to work out. I just wrapped up Marathon training season with a PR at the Richmond Anthem Marathon so for the last 6 months I was lacing up my shoes, strapping on a headlamp, and heading out on a run of up to 10 miles before work. Next June I’m racing my second Half Ironman triathlon so I’m preparing for many more hours in the pool and on the saddle of my bike. 7 AM-8:30 AM and 5:30 PM-7 PM is family time only. I don’t check emails, take phone calls, or schedule meetings during those times because of how precious and limited time is with my 20 month old daughter. That time is sacred and so important for my mental health, emotional stability, and allows me to charge/recharge for the workday. Pamela: What tools do you use to accomplish your goals?

I work as an entertainment consultant at ECE (eastcoastentertainment.com) so there is no such thing as “off the clock” because events are happening at night and on the weekdays. Time management software like Trello, email accessibility on my phone/laptop, and a pen and paper to do list are the necessities of my job. It does allow me to work from anywhere so don’t judge me for typing up contracts pool-side in Miami!
